Contact naps only. Is this my life now?

My 11 week old will only nap on me. The second I put him down, even if he's in a deep sleep, eyes ping open and he screams.

So I spend most of the day on the sofa with him on my chest. I've watched a frankly embarrassing amount of TV. I can't eat a hot meal, can't shower until my husband is home.

Some days I love it. Some days I want to scream. Will he ever nap anywhere else?

Yes, he will. Probably not this month, though. Contact napping at 11 weeks is completely normal, he's basically still a newborn and you're the safest place he knows.

Try the sling for one nap a day. Means he's on you but your hands are free. I could at least make a cup of tea and walk round the park.

Mine started napping in the cot at about five months, completely out of nowhere. One day she just did. I spent a week staring at the monitor confused.

Sling arrived today. He fell asleep in it within ten minutes and I ate an entire hot lunch. With a fork. Thank you TheTiredGiraffe, I could kiss you.
