Grandparents keep buying huge noisy toys - how do I say stop

We live in a small flat in Kentish Town. Our two-year-old's grandparents are lovely and generous. They also keep buying enormous plastic toys that sing. Last week it was a light-up ride-on tractor. We literally have nowhere to put it.

How do you tell grandparents 'thank you but please stop' without hurting their feelings?

As a grandmother, I'd rather be told. Give us a list or suggest experiences. My daughter suggested a zoo membership instead of toys at birthdays, and I now love taking my grandson myself. It's a gift for me too.

Toys that live at grandma's house! The tractor stays there and becomes the special thing he plays with when he visits. Everyone wins.

We also suggested contributing to a savings account or swimming lessons. My parents liked knowing it was going to something useful.
