I chose this username when my son was a newborn and I was very into buggy research. Little did I know he'd come to hate it.

He's 19 months. As soon as he sees the buggy he arches his back and goes stiff as a board. But he's too little to walk all the way to nursery (15 minutes) and he won't stay on the pavement. What are people doing?

Let him walk part of the way and buggy the rest. We always walked the first bit (the fun bit with the dog and the cat on the wall) then buggy for the main road.

Have you tried letting him push the buggy? Mine loved pushing it empty for a bit then would climb in when tired.

A reins/backpack harness for the walking part. Some people judge, but they don't have a toddler who bolts towards the road.
