My 3yo said the F word at nursery and I know exactly where she got it

It was me. Of course it was me. I dropped a pan of pasta on my foot on Sunday and said it with real feeling.

On Wednesday she said it at nursery, perfectly in context, after a tower fell down. Her key worker told me at pickup, trying not to laugh. My partner is NOT laughing.

How do I get it out of her vocab before she says it in front of my mother at Christmas?

Zero reaction is the key. If she gets a laugh or a gasp, it becomes the best word ever. Calm, boring: "That's not a word we use. You could say 'oh no!' or 'oh fiddlesticks'." Then move on.

As a grandmother, I can tell you I have heard far worse from far older grandchildren. Your mother may well have heard worse from YOU. Don't panic.

Update: two weeks of 'oh crumbs' with full theatrical delivery and she's now saying it about everything. A dropped spoon. A cloud. My partner has forgiven me. I've switched to swearing in my head.
