Reduced movements - did I overreact going to triage?

33 weeks. Yesterday afternoon I realised I hadn't really felt her move since breakfast. Had a cold drink, lay on my side, nothing much. So I rang maternity triage and they told me to come in.

Two hours on the monitor and she was absolutely fine. Heartbeat perfect, started kicking the second they strapped me up, obviously.

The midwife was kind but I felt like such a time waster. There were women in there in actual labour. Did I overreact?

No. Absolutely not. That is exactly what they want you to do. Every midwife I've ever met has said they'd rather see a hundred healthy babies than miss one that isn't.

And please don't wait until the next day if it happens again, don't rely on a home doppler, and don't let anyone tell you babies move less towards the end. They don't. Ring every time.

You'd be amazed how many of those women in labour were sitting in that exact chair a few weeks earlier. You're not taking anything away from anyone.
