Lost most of my friends after having kids. Is this normal?

Before kids I had a big group of friends from uni. We went out every weekend, holidays together, the lot. I'm the first to have a baby and two years on I barely hear from them. I got invited to a hen do recently and it felt like an afterthought.

I don't blame them, I can't go out on a Friday night anymore and I bang on about nap schedules. But it's lonely. Did your old friendships survive?

It goes both ways. I was the child-free friend once and I stopped inviting my mum friend out because she always said no. I thought I was being considerate. Turns out she just wanted to be asked. Maybe tell them you still want invites even if you can't always go.

Suggest daytime things. Brunch, a walk. A lot of my child-free friends didn't realise I could do daytime when they just assumed I couldn't do anything at all.

Yasmin that's a really good point. I might have been saying no so much they stopped asking. Going to send a message about a Sunday brunch.
