I've just found out from a random mum at the park that our borough gives out a free book pack at the 2 year review. My son is nearly 3. Nobody mentioned it.

What other freebies or entitlements did you discover too late?

Healthy Start vouchers if you're on certain benefits. Money for milk, fruit and veg, and free vitamins. Loads of people eligible don't claim.

Bookstart packs. We got one as a baby and another at toddler age. My daughter still has the little bag.

Many leisure centres do free or discounted swimming for little ones, and some libraries lend out toys and even sensory kits. Ask at the desk.

Prescriptions are free for kids and also for you for a year after the baby is born with a maternity exemption certificate. Get it, I paid for meds for months before I realised.
